Dakhla Kiteboarding World Cup 2014
This year I’m happy to compete in the Kiteboarding World Tour – PKRA. First competition I attended has just finished, and it took place in Dakhla Marocco, 18-23 March 2014.
I’ve travelled from Vietnam to Marocco, and arrived 2 days before competition started. Western Sahara welcomed me at cold night and my first thought was if I took enough clothes.. But in the morning the temperature rose quickly and every day was pretty warm !
After arrival I’ve spent few days just kiting because of priority of Wave division, and when it came to freestyle wind was strong, durign heats I’ve been choosing between 7m and 5m all the time..
As for first start this year I’m happy with my result, although in Single Elimination I lost in my first heat so couldn’t really check myself much.
But next day in Doubles I managed to get to next round and failed later in heat against Manuela. My final result was 7th place. I knew it wasn’t my best performance, and I’ve learnt my lesson to do better next time !!
It was super windy 9 days, with everyday wind increasing !! The lagoon in Dakhla is great, and there’s many flat spots, although our competition zone was in the middle of it, that’s why in 25-35 kts it was choppy and harder that it looks like.Definitely recommend the spot in Dakhla Attitude Hotel, and what’s more, during our stay they build a wake park, so last day I hit some fresh obstacles for a change 🙂
I’m back in Vietnam to stay focused on riding before next PKRA stop in France ! ! Hope to see my team mates there too!
Big thanks to Nobile Kiteboarding !!

Great photos, what is it about Poland and Kitesurfers? I’ve met a lot here in Perth and you guys are all amazing on a kite.
Not very summerlike nation? The truth is we have great conditions in the summer for riding! Your ancestors would know 😉
Don’t think my ancestors were into watersports 🙂 All the best with the tour.
